The Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Engineering is made up of the following six modules:

Engineering Principles

Understand the application of SI units and measurement techniques.
Develop the ability to carry out engineering calculations accurately.
Learn how to read, analyse, and interpret engineering-related information.

Design Technology

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of engineering products and design concepts.
Understand how to apply a systems-based approach to electrical design.
Be able to create and present 2D CAD drawings effectively.

Electricity

Understand the role and function of basic electrical components in circuits.
Apply AC and DC circuit theory to practical circuit design.
Gain knowledge of power supplies and electrical power system protection.

Mechanics

Understand motion using mathematical principles.
Analyse energy changes within different systems.
Understand energy transfer, forces, and the principles of elasticity.

To enrol on our Level 3 course, learners must be at least 16 years old and have completed full secondary education or an equivalent qualification.

After completing an engineering qualification, you can progress into a career as a Mechanical Engineer, where you will design, develop, and improve mechanical systems and products. Alternatively, you could become an Electrical Engineer, responsible for designing, operating, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment.
